D’Angelo Virgo is a lifelong Philadelphian, a product of the 192nd Legislative District, and a proud advocate for his community. Born and raised in West Philadelphia, D’Angelo has spent his entire life in the neighborhoods that make up the 192nd—from Wynnefield to Overbrook—giving him a deep, personal understanding of the challenges and strengths of the district he is running to represent.

Our Priorities

Education Reform

Education is personal for D’Angelo. He is a proud product of Philadelphia public schools and a former educator who understands firsthand both the promise and the challenges within our classrooms. Having served as a teacher and coach, D’Angelo has seen how underfunded schools, overcrowded classrooms, and underpaid educators directly impact student outcomes.

As State Representative, he will fight to create and shape policies that strengthen public education from the ground up. This includes advocating for competitive teacher pay, improved classroom resources, and equitable funding so that every child—regardless of zip code—has access to a high-quality education. D’Angelo believes that supporting educators is essential to supporting students, and meaningful reform begins by listening to those who are on the front lines every day.

Juvenile Justice Reform

D’Angelo has dedicated much of his career to working with justice-impacted youth. As the founder and Executive Director of Civically Engaged, he provides civic education to juveniles involved in the justice system, helping them understand their rights, responsibilities, and pathways forward. As a certified arraignment court magistrate, he has also seen how early interactions with the justice system can shape a young person’s future.

D’Angelo believes juvenile justice reform must focus on rehabilitation, education, and accountability—not punishment alone. He will work to advance policies that expand diversion programs, invest in community-based support, and reduce the long-term consequences of youthful mistakes. By shaping legislation that prioritizes prevention and opportunity, D’Angelo aims to break cycles of incarceration and create safer, stronger communities.

Protecting Seniors

Seniors are the backbone of the 192nd District, and D’Angelo believes they deserve dignity, security, and peace of mind. Too many seniors face rising costs, housing instability, limited access to healthcare, and exploitation—issues that demand thoughtful and responsive policy solutions.

As State Representative, D’Angelo will work to shape policies that protect seniors from abuse and neglect, expand access to affordable healthcare, and ensure they can age safely in their homes and communities. He will advocate for increased oversight of long-term care facilities, stronger consumer protections, and expanded access to essential services so seniors can live with the respect they have earned.

Public Safety

D’Angelo believes public safety is about more than enforcement—it is about prevention, trust, and community investment. True safety means neighborhoods where families can thrive, young people have opportunity, and residents feel protected and heard.

D’Angelo will work to create policies that support smart, effective public safety strategies, including violence prevention programs, mental health resources, and community-based solutions that address the root causes of crime. By investing in education, youth engagement, and economic opportunity alongside responsible policing, D’Angelo is committed to shaping policies that make communities safer without sacrificing justice or equity.
